river poem

River dart
Just found this poem i wrote earlier this year, sitting here by the river dart during my stay at schumacher college. it was nice to write it.

Here everyone has a voice,

No one sings too loud.

A breeze comes,

Just to let you know,

It feels soft,

Welcome it says.

There is no need for everyone to show themselves,

Just being,

Adding a little something.

Wild garlic scent,

Nodding Daffodils,

A bumble bee attends.

A wood pigeon,

With a meditation coo.

The river flows and eddies spin,

And when the sun comes out,

She glows,

And shows us treasures down below.

A tree grows tall,

Wrapped in fluttering ivy.

Peace, elegance, togetherness

The rhythm at the river.

devon, schumacher and gaia

Back from an unbelievable week at Schumacher college in south devon. It was a week of immersion into Gaia theory and natural systems. It was a privilege to have been in the company of the awesome and inspirational Stephan Harding.

I come back energised, informed and with new perspectives, but also deeply troubled by our ongoing destruction of and disconnection from the natural world. I wonder if we really can turn things around.
